Rubber sole
Pickleball player here. I have owned three sets of these in black, and two in white. I am currently running a black pair. One important observation that I made is that, when brand new, the black shoes fit right out of the box and need no break-in period while the white ones feel much stiffer and hurt my feet for the first 2-3 days of wearing. I usually need to bring an old set of shoes with me to switch into while I break a new set of white ones in. Otherwise I cannot play in them for long. Also, to note, I have short but wide feet.Besides the stiffness complaint about the white pairs that I have owned, which has been confirmed with BOTH sets, I really enjoy these shoes! For reference, I am short (and probably heavy for my height) but I am very quick at getting around the courts. My play style involves a LOT of quick accelerations and changes in direction and these shoes hold up to the rigors I put them through with ease! They have excellent grip when I need it but also break loose when I need to slide to a stop. The padding under foot is great for the heavy pounding style that I play as well which makes it very nice on all the leg/back joints. I have not had any complaints in that area while running these. One last note, these shoes have a 6-month warranty on outsole wear but I find that these shoes, like probably any others if you play the same style as I do, become useless once the herringbone/tread on them disappears and the outsole gets smooth. I have not been able to wear one set long enough to wear completely through the outsole (to the midsole) to be able to claim the warranty, as bald shoes are a no-go for my style, but if I were to stick with one set long enough, I could easily wear through a pair's outsoles in 6-months. Playing 2-3 times a week at 2-4 hours per session, I would probably get a good 3 months out of a pair before they start getting too slippery to be useful for me.
